Massachusetts é um estado que oferece diversas possibilidades de passeios. Você pode ficar em Boston e visitar cidades próximas, com características bem distintas. A depender da época do ano, você pode ver neve, ir para praia, caminhar pelas montanhas, passear em fazendas, conhecer locais históricos (onde os Pilgrims chegaram), e se tiver sorte, até pode ver algumas bruxas. Sempre há alguma coisa acontecendo perto de você.
Nesse fim de semana aconteceu em Northampton o Northeast Balloon Festival - 3 County Fair, festival de balonismo e uma feira com comida, cerveja artesanal, exposições, música ao vivo, jogos e diversões para as crianças. Você passa o dia inteiro na feira e em em dois horários do dia, bem cedinho e no final da tarde, os balões saem para pequenos vôos pela região (10 a 15 minutos, no máximo), isso se o vento permitir. No site do evento isso está explicado, mas a feira parecia ser bem maior do que realmente é.
Foi uma experiência divertida. Conhecer o modo como os americanos vivem no interior e como se divertem nos fins de semana, é algo interessante. Desafios de quem come maior quantidade de bacon; jogar um machado na parede; brincar de bambolê; beber cerveja e comer barbecue, crunchy balls, hamburguer, hot dog, waffles, são atividades corriqueiras nessas feiras.

Massachusetts is a state that offers many possibilities for tours. You can stay in Boston and visit nearby cities with very distinctive features. Depending on the time of year, you can see snow, go to the beach, hike in the mountains, walk on farms, see historical sites (where the Pilgrims arrived), and if you are lucky, you might even see some witches. There is always something going on near you.
This weekend Northampton hosted the Northeast Balloon Festival - 3 County Fair, a hot air balloon festival and a fair featuring food, craft beer, exhibitions, live music, games, and amusements for children. You spend the whole day at the fair and at two times of the day, very early and in the evening, the balloons leave for small flights around the region (10 to 15 minutes maximum), if the wind permits. On the event website, this is explained, but the fair seemed to be much bigger than it really is.
It was a good experience. Knowing how Americans live in the countryside and having fun on the weekends is interesting. Challenges such as who eats more bacon, throwing an ax at the wall, playing hula hoop, drinking beer and eating barbecue, crunchy balls, hamburger, hot dog, waffles, and others, are common activities at these fairs.
