Parada do orgulho gay/ Pride Parade

Esse ano a Pride Parade de Boston trouxe o tema “Looking Back, Loving Forward” relembrando a importância do aniversário de 50 anos da rebelião que aconteceu no Greenwich Village de Nova York de 28 de junho a 01 de julho de 1969, após uma batida policial ao maior bar gay da época.

Apesar das pessoas LGBTQ viverem naquele tempo às margens da sociedade americana devido a discriminação, preconceito e policiamento opressor, após esse episódio no bar a comunidade se uniu para revidar aos ataques constantes baseados em uma moralidade hipócrita em relação a orientação sexual e a identidade de gênero.

Desde 1970 os EUA realiza a parada do orgulho gay e atualmente ela acontece em diversos países, sendo que uma das maiores é em São Paulo. Stonewall representa décadas de manifestações e reconhecimento da necessidade de mudanças sociais para as pessoas LGBT. Aqui nos EUA a parada é realizada pela prefeitura, com a adesão de escolas, políticos, empresas que desfilam e manifestam seu apoio a comunidade.

This year, Boston's Pride Parade brought the theme Looking Back, Loving Forward reminiscent of the significance of the 50th anniversary of the rebellion that took place in New York's Greenwich Village from June 28 to July 1st, 1969 after a police raid to the largest gay bar of the time.

Although LGBT people lived at that time on the margins of American society because of discrimination, prejudice and oppressive policing, after this episode in the bar the community came together to counter the constant attacks based on a hypocritical morality regarding sexual orientation and gender identity.

Since 1970, the United States has been holding the Pride Parade and it is currently happening in several countries, one of the largest beings in São Paulo. Stonewall represents decades of demonstrations and recognition of the need for social change for LGBT people. Here in the USA, the parade is held by the city hall, with the adhesion of schools, politicians, companies that parade and express their support to the community.
