No meu trajeto diário para a estação de metro observo as casas e o estilo de vida norte-americano. Estou em um subúrbio residencial de Boston, as casas sempre estão fechadas, por causa do aquecimento, e nem sempre vejo pessoas em seu entorno, provavelmente por causa do frio.
Agora na época do Natal algumas casas colocam a guirlanda na porta, outras enfeitam a casa inteira, com os mais diversos ornamentos de Natal (bolas, meias, pinheiros, bengalas...). Fico a imaginar como é a parte de dentro dessas casas. Onde estou morando não há nada, nem pinheirinho dentro da casa. Este será o primeiro Natal em que não enfeitarei uma árvore.

On my daily walk to the subway station I look at the houses and the American way of life. I'm in a residential suburb of Boston, the houses are always closed because of the heat, and I do not always see people in their surroundings, probably because of the cold.
Now at Christmas time, some houses place the garland on the door, others decorate the whole house with the most diverse Christmas ornaments (balls, socks, pine trees, flares ...). I wonder what the inside of these houses looks like. I am living in a place there is nothing, no pine in the house. This will be the first Christmas I will not decorate a tree.
