Tudo
começou com o siriri e o cururu, danças que refletem o multiculturalismo do
povo cuiabano, formado por índios, negros, espanhóis e portugueses. Em uma
comunidade chamada São Gonçalo Beira Rio, lá nos idos de 1993, dona Domingas resolveu
juntar um grupo de crianças para lhes ensinar o respeito às tradições e à
história de seu povo. Ela queria manter viva essa cultura e suas raízes. E não
é que deu certo! Nascia ali o grupo de dança Flor Ribeirinha.
Passados
25 anos essas crianças cresceram e o grupo também, hoje são dezenas de dançarinos,
cantores e músicos (além da equipe técnica), que realizam shows em diversos
locais. Alçaram voo para além-mar e, em 2016, Flor Ribeirinha se consagrou
vice-campeão do maior festival de dança folclórica da Ásia, o Cheonon World Dance Festival. Em 2017 o show
“Mato Grosso dançando o Brasil” foi premiado como campeão mundial em
Büyükçekmece, na Turquia.
O
show é belíssimo! Representa por meio de uma grande produção danças das cinco
regiões do Brasil: norte com música e danças indígenas; sudeste, com o samba, mulatas
e malandros; nordeste, com o frevo; o sul e o típico vanerão; e, como não podia
deixar de ser, o centro-oeste com a dança do siriri. O figurino é riquíssimo em
detalhes e cores, realçados ainda mais pela iluminação.

Everything began with the siriri and cururu, dances that reflect the multiculturalism of the Cuiaban people, made up of indigenous peoples, blacks, Spanishs and Portugueses. In a community called São Gonçalo Beira Rio, back in 1993, Mrs. Domingas decided to join a group of children to teach them respect for the traditions and history of their people. She wanted to keep the culture and its roots alive. And it worked! Flor Ribeirinha was born.
After 25 years these children have grown up and the group also, today there are dozens of dancers, singers and musicians (besides the technical staff), who perform shows in several places. They flew overseas, and in 2016, Flor Ribeirinha became the runner-up of the largest folk dance festival in Asia, the Cheonon World Dance Festival. In 2017 the show "Mato Grosso dançando o Brasil" was awarded as world champion in Büyükçekmece, in Turkey.
The show is gorgeous! It represents through a great production dances of the five regions of Brazil: north with music and indigenous dances; southeast, with the samba, mulatas and rogues; northeast, with frevo; the south and the typical vanerão; and, of course, the center-west with the Siriri dance. The costumes are rich in details and colors, highlighted even more by the lighting.
It is worth seeing and divulging the cultural richness of the lands of Mato Grosso and of Brazil!
