Corujas/ Owls

Desde minha adolescência convivo com figuras de coruja ao meu redor.  Minha mãe tinha uma coleção, mesmo não gostando delas. Estranho, não é? A coleção surgiu com um presente e a partir deste momento as pessoas acharam que ela gostava destas imagens. E assim a coleção foi aumentando. Só vim a descobrir que ela não gostava muitos anos depois. Fico a pensar por que ela simplesmente não disse que não gostava ou como não percebi isto antes.

Minha filha também gosta de corujas, seja pela influência da coleção (quando criança ficava olhando para aquelas estátuas olhudas), seja pela Edwiges (coruja do Harry Potter). Ela começou a pesquisar sobre o significado deste animal e hoje tem a sua coleção.  

A coruja simboliza sabedoria e a origem deste significado está em seus hábitos noturnos. Os gregos acreditavam que a noite era o momento das revelações filosóficas e intelectuais.

Since my adolescence I live with owl figures around me. My mother had a collection, even disliking them. Strange, is not it? The collection came up with a gift and from that time people thought that she liked these images. And so the collection grew. I just came to find out that she did not like many years later. I'm thinking why she simply did not say she did not like or how I did not realize this before.

My daughter also likes owls, either by the influence of the collection (when she was a child, she kept looking at those statues) or by Edwiges (Harry Potter's owl). She began to research the meaning of this animal and now she has its collection.

The owl symbolizes wisdom and the origin of this meaning is in their nocturnal habits. The Greeks believed that the night was the moment of philosophical and intellectual revelations.
